Silicon Valley Building Inspections Services Overview Experience Contact
David Johnson has been in the commercial construction industry in the South Bay since 1986. Initially, he worked in business development for a contractor who specialized in new buildings and high-tech interior improvements. In the mid 1990’s, Dave focused primarily on Clean Room and Semiconductor-related projects, during which time he generated more than $150 million dollars worth of High-Tech projects. In the early 2000’s, he was the vice president of a division of a regional contracting firm.

With expertise in clean rooms, biotech, engineering and data labs, corporate accounts and facilities projects, Dave then expanded into Design-Build projects of all types, from building renovations to office interiors. To date, Dave has provided preliminary budgeting, design services and project management for more than 500 design-build projects.

As an additional value-added tool with which to offer his customers, Dave started doing ADA analyses and commercial building inspections in 1994. This service has resulted in Dave having inspected almost 1000 buildings totaling 20 million square feet since that time.

He has been a member of IFMA since 1996 where he was a board member from 1996 -2000, and where he earned “Committee Member of the Year” awards in both 1997 and 1998. He has contributed numerous articles and feature stories to both the San Jose Mercury News and the San Jose Business Journal, and has spoken at several industry events. In the late 1990’s he created the non-profit running club “Heals for Meals”, which raised and donated money to feed homeless people in the South Bay.

Dave enjoys working with kids showing them “skills of the game” (whatever game they play…) and is an avid runner and reader of business and history books. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Journalism & Mass Communications and also has degrees in Business Administration and Marketing. Dave lives in Campbell with his wife Phyllis and their three 5th graders.
During his inspection, Dave realized that our building had a single roof drain, and that the flow of water through the parking lot would be a fair-sized river on rainy days. Because of this, I was able to relocate the visitor parking close to the building so my customers wouldn’t have to walk through water to get in.
